Purchased the Sony Product in Jan this yr, and couldn't exist more happier with the performance. Has a few major apps built into the player, and can add more if need be. Very articulate picture when tied into Wifi at home. Highly recommend for a family unit or person on tight upkeep that needs a Motion picture disc role player with Built in apps without spending extra cash on whatever Fire stick or Roku device.

I purchased this role player strictly for streaming and it was the largest waste of money that I've ever spent. The player will NOT stay connected to the wifi. It is the Only device in my house that i have this event with. The internal LAN adapter has to be the cheapest that Sony could've put in this thing. There are days that, one time i FINALLY get it connected to the internet, that it will simply randomly shut off. Then when you ability it back on the internal memory utterly and LITERALLY FORGETS the LAN information y'all Only put in. It will turn itself off multiple times and reset before it stays connected. At least until you plow it off and the thing has another brain fart and disconnects again. It was fine for the first 3 weeks or and then of owning it before it started doing this. I will NEVER buy anything sony Always once more. I'chiliad an extremely disappointed in this. If i could give negative stars, i would. Anytime i run into someone getting gear up to purchase the player, i convince them otherwise.

Super Blu-Ray-Player, only not enough Apps

I bought this blu-ray player and it is quite delicious. But unfortunately it has very limited number of Apps, although information technology was stated in the advertizement, that 1 could: "Access over 300 online apps * including catch-up TV, VoD and more", too as "Browse a variety of online channels, or watch the latest YouTube videos." Disappointing that Sony doesn't keep this upward to date.

You don't know what you're missing when you buy the cheaper versions of these products Sony is excellent. The interface and the pic quality is amazing it's absolutely funny I can't fifty-fifty describe how much better this product is than every other streaming device I've ever purchased and every other Blu-ray device I've always purchased. I've owned this player for 5+ years and have been very pleased with it's operation. The picture quality has been fantastic and the HDMI connection has never posed any problems. It makes for a bully 3D Blu-ray player likewise. At first I was disappointed that I didn't have a congenital-in brandish just I didn't miss it too much. The GUI isn't the all-time out there and the apps are all a scrap clunky. I recommend another device for streaming. Unfortunately the disc drawer embrace won't flip back up anymore.

Nice thespian, easy to set and use. Would rate a 5 if it made more than apps of MY choice bachelor. I bought it for an older (no Ethernet plug) tv in my bedroom. And so I can only stream the available apps Sony has on the role player. I would be willing to pay a fee even to use apps like: prime, HBO max, Disney, paramount plus, etc., which I cannot admission through this player.

I bought this unit less than 2 months ago, didn't have any problems during the i-st months. after about five weeks of normal (ii-3 hrs per day) functioning information technology started freezing every threescore to 90 min of operation. You couldn't power it downwards using remote ot power button on the unit. All you can do is just unplug it and then plug in once more. And a few days ago a new trouble showed upwardly: hundreds of small horizontal light-green lines on the screen practically blocking video image. Obviously a defective unit..

It was bought to replace an ageing DVD actor that nosotros use to play concert and opera videos in a music appreciation group. It does this superbly well and I expect it to work equally well with Blu-rays. And then v stars for that. The Wi-Fi facility was also very attractive as we also streamed internet performances via a laptop and I thought this would accept its place. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi facility is express to a very few apps, eg Youtube. It doesn't give admission to general internet content. It does offer access to a potentially useful site or two with its built-in apps, eg in our case the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, just this requires users to register and there's no way that I have found that lets me practice this. So a grudging 1 star for this facility.

Issues With Replacement Role player

This histrion is a replacement (supplied by Sony) for another of the same model. The first one began freezing at random times. I chose Sony primarily for the brand name and, and so far, am not disappointed, it's really compact, has useful additional features and the upscaling really adds detail to not Blu-Ray discs. I would have rated every bit excellent if I had used the device for a longer period on which to review it.

Set up easy and cracking picture show from dvds and the apps initially. Got this one so I could play dvds but as well to turn our TV into a smart one. Unfortunately the YouTube aqueduct would be OK for a brusque time then freeze, adjacent twenty-four hours not load at all then having reset everything go the freezing or non loading. In the cease took it back and got a refund. Looking at the Internet the YouTube app seems to be a common upshot. So...Swell dvd but forget the apps. E'er been a fan of Sony but not and then much now!,

I particularly wanted a meaty Hard disk dvd player to fit a pocket-size space. This thespian is small-scale but has lots of features and is multi regional. It also has several apps included (which I have on my smart tv so were not essential). The picture quality is excellent - far superior to my previous large Samsung HD thespian - simply information technology does have a few moments to place and load a disc which can exist a slight annoyance and the only negative feature and the reason I give it 4 rather than 5 stars. There are cheaper compact products on the market only I'm more than happy with the quality of this Sony player.

The home carte is cluttered. All the apps installed are shown and the box to click on for the Blu-ray/dvd disc is relegated to the lesser right. I own another Sony Blu-ray thespian and these apps are visible and available only if scrolled down to view/select. Both players are activated past each players remote. The operating code must be the same for both. Plow on one and you plough on the other regardless of which remote is used, etc. For the size of the remote I find the remote cluttered with many buttons; a number of which I never utilize.
